Claims
How claims work
A clear path from notify to panel lawyer — including documents, review statuses, and where to track your matter.
- Step 1
Notify us
Contact LEXNA or open a claim in the Client Portal as soon as a legal matter arises. Share your membership number and a short description of what happened.
- Step 2
Submit documents
Upload ID, contracts, court papers, police reports, photographs, and any other supporting files requested for assessment.
- Step 3
Claims review
LEXNA reviews the matter against your product benefits, waiting periods, and policy conditions. You may be asked for more information.
- Step 4
Approval
If the claim is approved within cover limits, LEXNA confirms next steps and benefit allocation for the matter type.
- Step 5
Lawyer appointment
An authorised panel attorney is appointed where appropriate so you receive qualified legal support under your cover.
- Step 6
Case begins
Your matter proceeds with the panel lawyer. Track status in the Client Portal from Submitted through Closed.
Documents you may need
- Certified copy of ID / membership details
- Proof of residence (where relevant)
- Contracts, letters, or agreements related to the dispute
- Court papers, summonses, or pleadings
- Police reports or charge sheets (criminal / bail matters)
- Photographs or other evidence supporting the claim
Panel lawyers
Approved claims are handled through LEXNA's panel of law firms. Using a panel attorney is required for certain benefits (including conveyancing contribution). Contact LEXNA if you need help identifying the right firm for your matter.
Claim tracking statuses
Processing time depends on the matter type and how quickly documents are provided. Sign in to the Client Portal to see the timeline on each claim.
