Before you join
Waiting periods
Waiting periods affect when certain benefits can be claimed. Read this before you join so there are no surprises later. The official Terms & Conditions always take precedence.
This page summarises publicly published waiting-period rules for the website preview. Always confirm the full wording in the Terms & Conditions PDF before relying on a benefit.
When cover starts
Membership begins once LEXNA accepts your application and premiums are active under the policy. Some benefits are available according to product rules; others only after a waiting period ends.
Waiting period summary
| Benefit | Waiting period | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Conveyancing contribution | 11 months | Main member only; primary residence; once every 3 years; panel attorney required. Disbursements excluded. |
| New legal matters (general) | Subject to Terms | Benefit-specific waiting periods may apply. Confirm the official Terms & Conditions before you rely on cover. |
| Existing disputes | Not covered | Matters that already existed before membership (or outside policy rules) are typically excluded. |
What is typically not covered during waiting
- Benefits claimed before the applicable waiting period has ended
- Existing disputes that already existed before you joined
- Matters excluded by the policy wording (fraud, outside-policy issues, and similar)
Conveyancing example
After an 11-month waiting period, the main member may claim up to N$10,000 toward attorney conveyancing fees on a primary residence — once every 3 years — through a LEXNA panel attorney.
